The design house of Sweepa®

We don’t follow the industry.
We redraw it.

Every Sweepa® brush and broom was conceived, drawn and refined right here, in house and from scratch, by people who care about brooms more than is probably reasonable.

01The studio rule

There is no catalogue we pick from. No factory design with our name stuck on it. Every Sweepa begins here, as a question, a pencil line and a few sleepless nights. Then it is redrawn, again and again, until it feels obvious.

02From pencil to product

Watch an idea
become a Sweepa.

  1. A blank pageEvery product starts with an empty sheet of paper and one question: how can this job be made easier?
  2. The first linesRough shapes, guide lines and a lot of questions.
  3. Questioned, refined, redrawnLighter. Rounder at the ends. Again. Until it feels right on the floor.
  4. The real thingPrototyped, tested on real floors, approved, and made by our own factory.

03After hours

Sleepless nights,
on purpose.

Great design rarely keeps office hours. The lights in our studio stay on long after the day is done, because the best idea of the week has a habit of arriving at two in the morning.

Their names are not on the box, but the fingerprints of the people who sketched it at midnight and rebuilt it at dawn are on every detail.

Sweepa has won crates of awards. The pencils are still on the desk.

A typical night in the studio.

  1. The handle still feels heavy. Start again.
  2. Softer edge on the head. Better.
  3. Third prototype tonight. Closer.
  4. That is the one. Draw it properly.
  5. Sunrise. Sleep. Test it on real floors tomorrow.

04The process

Six stages.
All of them in house.

Here is what happens to an idea on its way to your home.

01

Listen

Every brief starts with a real job: a floor, a coat of pet hair, a wet yard, a tired hand. We ask questions before we draw a line.

02

Sketch

Dozens of ideas go onto paper before one is chosen. Most are crossed out. That is the point.

03

Shape

Form, balance and grip are refined, view by view, until the design feels right in the hand and is ready to be made.

04

Prototype and test

Real prototypes are tested on real surfaces: carpet, tile, pet hair, wet and dry. What fails goes back to the drawing board.

05

Prove

Every design is measured against strict standards for durability and hygiene before it is approved.

06

Hand over

Approved designs go to Sweepro Manufacturing in Sri Lanka, our own family factory, for production.

Every Sweepa product begins its life here, from the first sketch to the final approved design.

05Materials

Designing with
a living material.

Natural rubber is grown, not drilled. It comes from rubber trees in Sri Lanka, tapped by local small-crop farming families we have worked with for many years. It springs back, it grips, it keeps its shape, and it rewards a designer who listens to it.

Talk to the studio

Every great brush started
as somebody's idea.

Tell us yours. If it deserves better than what is on the shelf today, we would love to draw it.
